WordPress Plugins
Below you will find information on several wordpress plugins I have written. Not all of them will likely make it on to this page, but if I’ve sent a link out to it publicly or otherwise made it known to the world you should be able to get all the latest on it here.
I do any and all coding on my free time, so no promises … but … if you have any questions/feedback/suggestions/feature requests/etc please feel free to shoot me an email.
Thanks,
- Dave
Current Version: 1.3 (See Change Log / README)
Description:
This Plugin will add fields to the comment form to allow visitors to leave video responses and will include these responses as enclosures in the comment rss feed. Output of video responses is css configurable, and with the addition of vPIP, videos will play “inline”.
Features:
- Auto-add the comment form fields for a video comment *
- Save video comment info to the wordpress database (I made a commentmeta table that works just like the standard postmeta table)
- Includes rss enclosures in the comment feeds for comments with video responses
- Displays video comments in the comment section
- Does some validation of links submitted
- If no thumbnail is provided, or provided thumbnail is a broken link, the plugin will use a default thumbnail image.
- Specify the default thumbnail image in the plugin options page in the WordPress Admin
- Allows for editing of video comments by administrator (See Change Log / README)
- Specify the Maximum display width of thumbnail images in the plug-in options page in the WordPress admin(When used with vPIP this limits video playback maximum width as well)
- Includes several css classes so you can further customize the look for your blog/theme.

* Note: for a theme to support the auto-add of comment fields, the hook must be available in the theme. To make sure this is the case, themes should include
<?php do_action('comment_form', $post->ID); ?> in the comments.php file. (And where that code appears, so too will the video response elements on the form).Description:
This Plugin automatically adds XFN rel attributes to any links in all your posts which link to someone in your blogroll. This way you don’t have to add XFN info manually each time you link to someone. The plugin uses the XFN data stored for links in the Manage->Links admin section, so as you update/add/remove links and any XFN data in your WP Admin section, all links on your site are automatically updated with appropriate XFN attributes. The plug can optionally (when theme supported) include XFN icons next to the appropriate links in your posts.
Features:
- Automatically adds XFN rel attributes to links in your posts based on your Blogroll section of the WP Admin
- Optionally will include CSS to stylize XFN links to include common XFN icons.

Current Version: .8 (not yet released)
Description:
This plugin makes it easier to enclose media files and specify thumbnails. It also generates thumbnails and provides an “episode archive” thumbnail view (see demo links below). The plugin also adds mediaRSS elements to your wordpress feed. The plugin will also allow you to specify playback dimension for each media file, and can configure inline or popup players to play the media files on your blog when clicked (instead of being downloaded). The plugin requires no custom code in the post body. This plugin is still in development and is not yet in general release.
Features:
- Provides an improved/simplified way in the post editor to point-click/choose the media files to enclose and which to use as episode thumbnails.
- If you don’t specify a thumbnail image, it will create/use a thumbnail based on the image you used in your post. (it looks for images contained in links to media files you’ve enclosed, so its usually smart enough to pick the right one if you have many pictures)
- if it still can’t figure it out, it uses a specified default thumbnail
- Adds MediaRSS elements to the feed (including alternate formats, defaults, dimensions, filesizes, thumbnails, etc)
- Is configurable to either play the media file when someone clicks the thumbnail, or navigate on to the permalink – whichever you prefer
- Can be set to show only video, or audio, or image … or any combination of the above
- Can either group the thumbnails by type or not – whichever you prefer.
- Allows you to define playback dimensions for each filetype enclosed in a post
- It does not require any special code in the blog post, and therefor leaves your posts nice and forward compatible with the next big thing that comes around.
- …some other things that are half-finished … I’m not actively coding right now.

pity that plugins for playlist automitico and to vlogproducer stagnated then serious very comfortable with the implementation and personalisation which they mention, wordtube soils too much the data base and not yet desinstalacion has file of fun and to mediaburner does not allow the personalisation and it does not count on a simple embebedor of video
