Hello! I’m David Meade, N9LTQ. I’ve been a federally licensed shortwave radio operator since 1991, and have recently (2010) upgraded to a general class license.
I enjoy UHF/VHF FM and digital modes such as packet radio and APRS, but HF was and is my first and greatest love of the hobby. After having moved back to Indiana and getting a house, I decided to finally get back on the air and walked away from my first Dayton Hamvention this year having purchased a Ten-Tec Omni VII. I’ve really been enjoying HF despite being rather limited in regards to my antenna setup. I’m currently running a multi-wire dipole in my garage attic. It may not be an ideal situation, but I’ve made contacts all over the world with it (and even gotten some pretty good reports).

Thank you for all those who have sent a QSL card to me confirming a QSO. I’m currently working to get QSL cards designed/ordered, and will try to catch up on sending them out soon.
Indianapolis is blessed with both a number of special events and an active and friendly ham radio community. Thanks to each, I’ve had the great opportunity (and privilege) to work as an operator for the W9IMS special event Amateur Radio station here in Indianapolis.
The voice operator of W9IMS you hear in this video is me (N9LTQ), and the morse code operator you hear is Pat (N2DKB).
